  There is a lot to be said when both the owner and the customer can develop trust within each other: honesty being the best policy. That say, I was really pleased with how the staff handled my... forgetfulness; I was halfway to my tram stop when I realised I hadn't paid for my meal. Walked back, apologised sincerely to the owner and completed my transaction. He then awarded me with a free muffin. I'm saying this to shed light on the integrity and ethics of the cafe. The staff are friendly and it feels like I don't feel too out of place (because nine out of ten times that I'm eating out, it's usually solo). The food's is about a 3.5 (4 because the burgers and chips were so damn good), 3 on the pricing (I understand why it is what it is), but 5 on customer service. Well done, Boathouse staff! I look forward to eating at your cafe again. I was thoroughly satisfied. Great work! 8.5

  Very disappointed. Went for lunch and both the meal and service was horrible! Sent food back and asked for a refund only to be told it was meant to taste that way. The only good thing about this restaurant is the location. Will not be going back.
